This month’s Walrus offers a good overview of how the region of Waterloo grew into a tech hub in an oh-so-typically positive-but-prudent Canadian way. For my American friends, it might be helpful to know that the University of Waterloo – like nearly all universities in Canada – is a “state” school, funded primarily by the provincial government.
